This Halloween marked the 13 year aniversary of the death of my brother. He was 13 in 96 when he was hit by a car on 10-30. He died the next morning at Holston Valley Hospital the next morning on Halloween.
Saturday evening after I got home from the game my mom called me to tell me that my dad wasn't feeling good. He was saying he thought he was having another heart attack. He's only 46 years old. He had a triple bypass summer of last year. Two months after that he had his right leg amputated from complications of diabetes that he'd been battling since he was 12. I went to see him Sunday and tried to talk him into going to the dr. He told me that there was nothing that they could do for him and that he didn't want to go back into the hospital to be put through any more pain. He told me that he was going to die on the same day his baby did. By the time I ended up leaving Sunday, he promised me that he would go to the dr on Monday. I called monday morning and my mom said that she couldn't get him to go. I was working yesterday and my mom called me and told me that the ambulance had taken him to the hospital. When I there he was intibated and they were trying to get him stable to medflight to JCMC. After about 30 minutes they came and told us that he had coded, they'd lost his pulse and were trying to get him back. At about 1:30 pm, they told us he was dead.
All of you people, I don't ask you for anything for myself, but please, send all of your good thoughts, prayers, kind words up into space to help my mom. I will be fine. She now has to deal with losing her baby boy and the only man she's ever been with and the person that has been her only boyfriend since they met in kindergarden, on the same day of 10-31. All of you folks please, hug your family. Tell them you love them, because they'll be gone way too soon.
